About the conference

Bunyavirus 2026 follows on from Bunyavirus 2022 (Cambridge, UK) and Bunyavirus 2024 (Leeds, UK) and will provide a forum to exchange cutting-edge expertise and knowledge to all those interested in bunyavirus-related topics. To strengthen and expand the dynamic and diverse network of bunyavirologists, we especially welcome early career researchers and researchers from countries affected by bunyavirus diseases to share their perspectives and actively engage in this community. The meeting will be structured around 6 sessions:

  1. Evolution, epidemiology and diagnostics
  2. Vector biology
  3. Virus entry and assembly
  4. Virus replication
  5. Antiviral immunity and pathogenesis
  6. Vaccinology and antivirals

Our keynote speaker for Bunyavirus 2026 will be Amy Hartman, from the Center for Vaccine Research, University of Pittsburgh, USA. Amy is one of the leading experts in bunyavirus vaccine development. Given the lack of currently available licensed bunyavirus vaccines, we anticipate that this keynote lecture will ignite discussions around the topic, across disciplines, and encourage attendees to contribute with and integrate their expertise. Amy will deliver her talk as part of the ‘Vaccinology and Antivirals’ session.

We will open registration early in 2026, with abstracts accepted for both oral and poster presentations. Please ensure you use the abstract submission template (will be available early 2026) when submitting your abstract.

In the meantime, please come back and visit this page once in a while; we will update the site with information about the meeting schedule, invited participants, accommodation and travel options.
